Great sharp image, love the colors and composition and I think the square crop really works nicely.

good subject

These flies are easy to start getting good images on, for some reason their coloring lets the camera/photographer really shine, dark and lesser contrasting ones are really hard. These flys also usually let us get close to them, so they become a fun subject to work with.

Still this is a near perfect in my book. Not only is the fly in great focus, but a nice section of the flower too. All of those positives aren't usually found in the same image!

Thank you Scott. Hover Flies in general are so attractive, don't you think?

The syrphid family especially. Some of these colorful ones aren't Syrphids or Hover flies, but we know what were referencing anyway.
