This is my first outing with my new 11-22mm lens, taken at Burbage Brook in the Peak District Derbyshire.

Processing applied: Converted to Jpeg using Adobe Camera Raw, I duplicated the image then converted it to B/W, then used overlay blending and adjustied the opacity before saving for Web in CS2.

volume control for drama

This technique has lots of potential but it's quirky. I'm having difficulty getting the effect I'm looking for without an overall boost in contrast. I suspect that selective masking is the next step. There are lots of actions available but I want to understand what's going on and that means trial and error. I find that downloading someone else's action and stepping through it, sort of reverse engineering, is helpful.
