Shot from a local vantage point over Largs, this photo shows the local Ferry between Largs and the isle of Great Cumbrae. The short journey takes around 30 minutes.
The last waxwing...
...in the flock stayed behind a bit longer, allowing me to take its portrait. Also, it is the last waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) that I will post for this autumn - I guess...
Not as nice composition and not as nice pose as the pair in Table ras? but this one is at least sharp ;-)
I know this isn't a particularly outstanding shot but what I really liked was the 'Aussie engineering'. It was quite high in the tree - over my head, so no doubt the postie would be impressed!
