You certainly managed to convey the unpleasant feeling of being in such cold water. I guess only certain types of scuba divers appreciate it.
Regarding the image, I am not sure about the composition... The red line dropping down in the middle may be too centered in relation to the otherwise very asymmetric distribution of green intensity. I think I would have preferred the opposite. In any case, colours, exposure, and sharpness are very fine and you managed to show us something unusual with a maintained feeling of how it might be there.
