Thanks Alfred. I didn't realize until just now that I have a larger image in my folder of this shot. http://myolympus.org/document.php?id=8864. I was also advised by someone in a macro photo group that the thing in it's mouth is in fact it's tongue, not an aphid. I have another ant shot that's also a bit gross, but informative for those interested and I'll post it when I get a chance soon.
btw this kind of macro is the result of what I learned from Jens Birch when he was active here.
