I was out walking on Burbage Moor in Derbyshire when I came across this sheep stood on Ox Stones. I love the natural sculptures and texture of the gritstone which is common in the Dark Peak.

Great stuff!

Amazing and almost surreal landscape. Clouds form a beautiful background for the moor and sculpture-like rocks look simply fantastic. It could not look more impressive even if there was a dragon on stone instead of a lamb.Very well done!

Thanks for your comments Pekka,
I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the sheep standing on this rock, I had to wait ages before it would cooperate and stand where I wanted it to, I love the way the sheeps head echos the shape of the rock, it was one of those rare times when it all came together.

I agree concerning the "surrealist" look of the photo.
Sky, stones, subject, colors associations all is good in this composition.

Steve you are a very lucky (and patient) man, as well a good photographer (of course).
Amazing picture, beautiful sky. This kind of rocks remember me the summit of Roraima mountain in Venezuela. In my opinion could be much better if you crop a little the bottom or foreground of the picture. Best regards, Ricardo

Thanks for all your comments, I'm really pleased how this one has come out, it would have been an interesting shot without the sheep but luckily for me having the sheep there has added an extra element and altered the mood of the shot. I have made a crop from the bottom as suggested by Ricardo which has improved the overall balance.
