This McDonald Douglas (MD600N) 8-place helicopter is such a rich blue that the sky paled by comparison - even with the polarizer filter. Both the MD-600N and its smaller cousin (the MD-520N) sport the new NOTAR technology; neither helicopter has the traditional tail rotor, ergo the name: NOTAR (NO-TAil-Rotor).

Like your pictures Leon but just a question

Why don't you take the whole airplane / helicopter in the shot...?
I think for a plain spotter it would be nice to see the total machine , of course shots from details can be also interesting but now looking at these three images I miss something in each of them...

Thanks for taking the time to view the images I posted from the airport and for your comments. I truly appreciate someone with ?your eye? taking time to provide feedback.

As to how come just a partial shot rather than a full view of the aircraft is concerned, as you know this website has a limit as to the size of what can be downloaded; consequently, if you post an item that shows the entire object then downsize it (to 800 x 600) there is a good chance that in doing so the image loses its impact ? in a visual sense, that is.

I took a total of 16 shots of the MD-600. Some were of the entire helicopter, the rest were close-ups. As you correctly note ? ? details can be also interesting ? ? Clearly, the close-ups have more detail and more effect, at least to my way of thinking.

I?ll post two more images of the helicopter; one shows the entire airframe, including the rotor blades; the second is closer than the original photo-file I posted. Let me know what you think.
