Smoke over Miami Beach

Bob -

I like this a lot.

The way it's cropped it's a good documentary; however, crop all the beach and it could potentially become an abstract study in pastels. How good it is would depend on what's inside the eye of the beholder.

If you decide to go the abstract route you might also want to consider rotating the image (left or right) ninety-degrees; see what that looks like.

As for the smoke, I'm sure there are readers from far away who do not know about all the forest fires we're experiencing here in the Sunshine State. For those who don't know, at last count we've got 50 wildfires burning statewide.

In Baker County and Columbia County (north of I-10 and east of I-75) there is a large and persistent fire that began weeks ago in the Okefenokee Swamp in southern Georgia.

I was working in Baker County a couple weeks ago; the smell of the fire was intense; the sky was filled with smoke and ash. Fifty miles south in Gainesville where I live the smell from that same fire was almost as bad - with less smoke and no ashes.

In a word it's been bad; reminds me of 1998, which was much worse than what we've had so far this year - but the year is young; that's the concerning part of the equation.

BTW: Bob -

Back to your photos, I just checked the other photos you've posted, not much - number-wise, but when it comes to quality, it's way up there. I can't speak for others, but I'd like to see more of your stuff. You may be a newbie but you've got a good eye.

Ciao!

Leon,
Thank You for the kind words and I will keep at it (time is the problem), I remember the mess
in 98 down in charlotte county where I work, major damage to a lot of homes and peoples health,
still not as bad as hurricane Charley.
Thanks Again
Bob
