Excellent shot. The only way to further improve it would have been if you had managed to capture this at sunset, with the warm sun light hitting the bird from the (left) side.

I saw the sunset problem immediatley, but I forgot the Godwit autopilot at home ;-)

Fantastic! great detail in the beak, the eye, and the feathers, the sun is! hitting the bird from the left? with the shadow on the right side I think it is
