Stones Water Sky HDR
Another great capture Pekka. Very good work done with HDR process. Enjoyed your other five captures showing on this page. Sounds like you really enjoy that new Olympus. Seeing the photo's from it, I have a very hard time judging them or commenting. They appear so sharp that they appear flat to me. I realize the weather and lighting are not what you like for your great photo's. Looking forward to seeing more of your pics under conditions which you do so well in with that new camera...Dave

Thanks!
Thank you Dave.
Yes - E-P2 and other Pens produce definitely sharper images than older E-models with 10Mpix sensor. This is partly due to new 12 Mpix sensor and partly due to weaker AA-filter. I guess Olympus just wanted to reply to criticism that their camera bodies produce images with less detail than concurrents and their lenses outperfrom the used sensor technology. In my opinion sensor and lens quality is nicely balanced now in these recent models. And the good thing is that is is easier to reduce excessive sharpness in postprocessing than increase it if it isn't there. Of my recent 7 images on this site only 3 are taken with E-P2 - other 4 are with E-3.
Best regards, Pekka.

It's a good composition. I guess it could have been made even better by choosing different colours, something like sepia but not completely monochrome.

Kiitos!
Thank you Alfred. I considered sepia and b/w and other tones too, but the problem is that there are too many choices! I could not decide. Actually this final HDR version too looks more saturated and colourful on my computer both in Lightroom and in Elements. Only after I choose "Save for web" in Elements the program slightly desaturates the photo and the end result looks bleaker than I intended. There is something wrong in this part of my workflow but I havent' yet figured out why. It has been for years.
