Took this in October 2010 during my third visit to Yellow Mountain in Anhui China. Havenīt posted this before because I screwed this shot technically but I havenīt deleted this because it still conveys the mood. Early morning at 6.05 AM. Three mornings before this had been boringly cloudless and sunny. On the fourth morning before sunrise the sky was full of stars and it looked to become another bright disappointing morning. So I didnīt bother to drag my tripod anymore to the scenery place. That was a mistake. As soon as the sun started to rise from the horizon approached this magnificent wall of mist and clouds. I could not place my camera anywhere so I had to try to shoot handheld with ISO 800 and 84mm focal lenght and critically slow 1/13 shutter speed and pray that something would come out even decently sharp. It also was darker than it seems in final photo so autofocus could not focus and also it was too dark to focus properly manually. I am still angry to myself that I left that tripod in my hotel room that morning. I have spent about 20 nights on Huangshan and this morning was unique.
