DOF

I'm a bit surprised at the DOF. Would have thought that at F1.4 the background is more blurred.

The DOF is a function of the focal length. I was probably 5 feet or less from the model, and the DOF at that distance with a lens that wide is approximately 6 inches. A 75MM 1.4 lens (if there was such a thing) at the same distance would have less than an inch of DOF and the background would be much more blurred.
