These birds are to darn big, it's hard to get them in the frame.

So you go for Jurassic motif, huh? I think focus is just about ok, but the area above the neck does look as if the highlights are gone. You can fiddle with it if this is a RAW (I would), to bring out most of the detail. I would also add some warmer tones to this frame.

Thanks Sergey for the advice, I will start and "fiddle" with it.;-)
It is shot in RAW , see what I can do to make it better.

1-I am glad there are people on the MO site who take the time to analyse a picture.
2-They give critics and good advice .
3-Thanks to them we can learn and perhaps improve our skils.

Hi Fons,

So so far you have tried this lens on few shots and you also have 1.4x + 50-200; how would you compare them against one another? The 300 will hardly give you any CA and colors should be just next to perfect, but is the difference (other than in price) significantly noticeable?

You have also tried the older OM lenses; is the digital glass much better than the old timers or is the gain only visible in focus and speed (other than price again)?
