No, I didn't (have none). Just measured exposure on the blue sky and then a little darkroom work (corrected "overexposure" and contrast).

I have difficulties with noise in blue skies and this is how I hope to deal with.

Well you just did great.
Keep on doing it this way and you don't need to have a pol filter...;-)
