Fons, this is about as good as it gets, in my humble opinion. Great lighting, razor-sharp, great shot.
Best Regards

Thanks very much Sergio, I missed you lately on the site...;-)
I'm glad that you could see my little bird .
We had it for 4 weeks and hand fed it until it could fly and it was self supporting in finding food.
We set her free on Sunday , she came back a few times already to the garden and when I whistle it came to me.
I guess one day it will fly away from us and we will not see her anymore....to bad we have to say goodbye to this little friend.

Thanks very much Albert, we hope also that she will make it.
Until today ( Monday ) she is still doing fine, we spotted her in the garden fighting over some bread crumps with a few Sparrows.

Very nice Fons.

I never managed to keep any bird chicks alive. Great honor to you!

You have a nice composition here and the bird is tack sharp. Can't really wish for more.

Cheers, Jens.

Thanks very much for this comment Jens, we where very happy that the bird grow up to a healthy one.
From the first week on it was hard work, digging worms and feeding her every 10min .
When I found some good food in a animal store it became much easier.
Bought a little spout and fed her the mix of dried insects and worms.
Yesterday I spotted her back in the backyard and I whistled to her and she came right to us.
Fed her some left over worms and she went away again..
This morning Tuesday she was back again guess she likes the easy food ...
Anyway it's very nice to see this all happening and I really hope she will survive...

Nothing left to add to the above comments - i agree :-)
One thing: I think it is amazing that you succeded in bringing up this bird. As a little boy, I once found an abandoned young bird in the garden and tried the same, but without success. The small bird died after two days, probably just because i did something wrong, or maybe it was already sick. I was very sad but i learned a hard lesson: i try to leave nature as it is - even if i see something that should be taken care of. But no criticism here, i honestly think you did the right thing.

Thanks Dietrich for the comment , to bad you didn't succeeded in bringing up the little bird you found that time.
It's a life time experience I tell you, lots of work but done with much love and care....
I also agree with you to leave nature as it is , but when I spotted this little bird that probably was kicked out of the nest , and notice that it was a Thrush the best singers under the birds I could not let nature take over.
That was the main reason for trying, because I knew about the lovely lyrics they can produce...
I?m very glad we managed to set her free healthy and hope to here in the future a few of her lyrics in my yard?

Best regards ,

happiness

Hello Fons! .. Good actions bring good consequences, like the Buddha said once time, if you act with a pure heart, then the happiness will follow you, like a shadow that never abandon you. As I can see for the cooments, not only you feel happy, also the people with which you shared your picture
Best wishes, Ricardo...

Thank you very much Ricardo for the nice words in this comment .
If it is so that the all the happiness I get from this little bird is transferred over to all the people who participate on this site , then I am even more happy as I already was..
This little bird is giving us so much joy, you can?t believe it.....
Early in the morning she is already waiting at the sliding door for some food, during the day she comes about 5 - 6 times to get some extra.
She let you know that she is there by a high tone whistle...waiting at about one meter, as soon the door opened she comes running towards us, not shy at all....
Great so see this all, and lots of fun to do....;-)

Wish you all could see this .......

Hi Fons,

I see what you're talking about now with my "Redwing" photo. They do look very similar, I think this is a Song Thrush. Good for you for taking care of her, do you still see her? Nice she still returns back. Brilliant photo Fons!
